The organisers are claiming 25,843 people attended this year’s event, up 240 on 2018.
One wonders how this number was calculated? Sunday and Tuesday definitely looked less than last year, and Wednesday only had a light attendance. Were the many groups of children being led around counted I wonder? I bet they were. Continue reading

Scorpio Gold {SGN.V}
Further to Scorpio Gold Corp.’s press release dated Jan. 28, 2019, the company has completed the Waterton buyout, as a result of which, among other things, the company’s senior secured debt owing to an affiliate of Waterton Global Resources Management in the amount of $6,103,562 (U.S.) has been extinguished.
The company now holds a 100-per-cent interest in the Mineral Ridge project, located in Nevada. Continue reading
PDAC 2019 Toronto – Day 4
Well the final day as arrived at the 2019 PDAC, and as is usual, the show opens earlier, at 9 am and closes at 12.00 pm, meaning a quick three hour burst around those booths where you’re looking to connect with people.
At 9 am today, probably half the booths were not manned, indicating a hard night of partying had possibly taken its toll. Continue reading

Day 3 was noticeably quieter, and led to more complaints from booth holders that they weren’t meting any investors.
I was told that Canadian TV are reporting that the show has reduced numbers and exhibiting companies are complaining, so maybe the $CAD 23 entrance fee wasn’t such a good idea after all? Continue reading

Day 2 of the conference was a much busier day, as is the norm as the Bay St. market professionals arrive.
Booth holders I spoke to did not seem too happy about the lack of investors, most people walking around were in suits and ties are offering trades and services, and they were clearly in the majority. Continue reading

It was always going to be interesting to see if the attendance would be effected by the newly introduced CAD$23 admission charge, and the general consensus was that numbers were down on last year, especially so around the fringes of the conference.
I met a good number of boot holders that were disappointed in the lack of footfall past their booth, and there seemed to be few retail investors in the show. Continue reading

Metal Investor Conference Toronto – Day 1
In order to avoid a clash with yet another conference leaching off the back of the PDAC, the Metal Investor conference was moved from Friday and Saturday to Saturday and Sunday, clashing with day 1 of the PDAC on Sunday in the process.
