New Murchison – Airstrip Prospect – high grades returned as mineralised strike length doubles to ~730m

 

HIGHLIGHTS

New Murchison Gold Limited (ASX: NMG) (NMG or the Company) is pleased to report results from reverse circulation (RC) and slimline RC (SRC) drilling at the Airstrip prospect, part of the Garden Gully Gold Project near Meekatharra, Western Australia.

Airstrip is located on the Abernethy Shear zone, on the eastern limb of the Abbotts greenstone belt, where drilling has now intersected gold mineralisation along
a corridor approximately 5km long, extending from Abernethy South through Kingswood to Airstrip 

 

Key highlights:

• Drilling at Airstrip East delivers: 20m @ 2.51 g/t Au returned from 50m, including 2m @ 9.83 g/t Au from 53m (APSRC118). New zone is located 275m east of NGGSRC984 which returned 20m @ 3.36 g/t Au from 49m
• High-grade shoots confirmed: 13m @ 3.03 g/t Au from 46m incl. 1m @ 22.1 g/t Au from 50m (APRC006); 4m @ 7.40 g/t Au from 50m incl. 3m @ 9.37 g/t Au from 51m (APSRC070); 3m @ 7.90 g/t Au from 2m incl. 1m @ 21.9 g/t Au from 4m (APSRC069)
• Airstrip East mineralised strike more than doubled from ~310m to ~730m – mineralisation remains open to the north-east and south-west
• ~5km mineralised corridor – gold intersected in drilling along the Abernethy Shear from Abernethy South to Airstrip; the corridor is largely untested below ~100m vertical depth
• 155 holes for 12,110m recently completed; assays pending for seven SRC holes ~1.2km northeast of Airstrip East, where pyrite and silica alteration were logged
• Deeper RC and diamond drilling being planned to test the down-dip extent of the high-grade shoots

“Every step-out line in this program has returned gold mineralisation, and APSRC118 has returned one of our best intercepts at Airstrip so far.

“We now have around 730 metres of mineralised strike at Airstrip East that remains open, sitting on a 5-kilometre corridor that has barely been drilled below 100 metres.

“The next step is to drill deeper beneath the high-grade shoots, and we are looking forward to the assays from the new holes to the north-east.”
