CEO Philippe Cloutier gave an excellent presentation to a full house in London, ending in a very intensive and focused Q and A, which drew praise from the investors present.
The talk focused mainly on Cartier’s Chimo prospect, where the current drill campaign is ongoing, but also touched on the other assets in the portfolio, and the low acquisition costs of those assets as a prudent management team struck at the right time.

The talk focused mainly on Cartier’s Chimo prospect, where the current drill campaign is ongoing, but also touched on the other assets in the portfolio, and the low acquisition costs of those assets as a prudent management team struck at the right time.

Philippe is a passionate presenter, but without embellishing the facts, and comes across as totally honest in an industry not famed for integrity. That fact was not lost n the investors present, some of whom mentioned afterwards how he tells it as it is and doesn’t use any promotion.

Cartier are totally focused on their projects all of which are located in the Abitibi Greentsone Belt in Quebec, Canada. Management have experience in this belt so it makes sense to leverage that experience rather than look for projects elsewhere.

Apart from Chimo, the next best looking project looks to be Wilson, so ifwe get somw corporate activity at Chimo, Wilson could come into play rather quickly.

Philippe, when questioned about whether they wanted to sell Chimo or put it into production would not be drawn, making a strong case for both options, and certainly Cartier have the expertise there if necessary, but I felt they were still prospect generators rather than miners, and wonder about Agnico Eagle’s stake, and the reason for it?
