Litecoin suffered a flash crash this morning, losing 10% of its value in the space of a few minutes.

The cause of the sudden drop is currently unknown, and it has now fallen 50% since June. The market cap is now $4.5 billion.

Litecoin suffered a flash crash this morning, losing 10% of its value in the space of a few minutes.

The cause of the sudden drop is currently unknown, and it has now fallen 50% since June. The market cap is now $4.2 billion.

One theory being expounded is that as Litecoin gained so much in the first half of the year, traders were now taking profits, but that doesn’t answer why 10% was marked off in just a few minutes, unless traders panicked of course.

This for me highlights the risks of becoming too financially involved in crypto trading, the lack of understanding of what exactly is causing such large and sudden price fluctuations?
