Strongbow Exploration news – Changes name to Cornish Metals

Strongbow Exploration has become Cornish Metals (TSX.V: CUSN)

Cornwall based Strongbow Exploration has changed its name to Cornish Metals, to better reflect where the company is located, and what it does.

I think this is a very appropriate name change, and with a current round  of drilling commencing at their South Crofty mine, let’s hope it brings the company and its shareholders good fortune.

As one of the very few mining companies located in the UK, it’s essential to have a name that reflects the region of operation, to secure investor interest. Now this has been done, the other anomoly is of course that Cornish Metals are listed in Canada, on the TSX Venture Exchange, rather than London, their host exchange.

.

There have been moves afoot to joint list in London, on the AIM market, but despite Cornwall Council offering to invest £1 million when this has been achieved, this has not yet occurred. This is a shame, as I feel UK investors would support the company if they do list here.

Their flagship project is the past producing South Crofty underground tin mine in Cornwall, UK. With a mining licence (valid to 2071), planning permission to construct a new surface process plant, and water discharge permit in place, the project is fully permitted.

.

The project further benefits from numerous shafts preserved for future mining activity, a high-grade NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate, and a strongly supportive local community that has a long history of mining.

,

Cornish Metals plans to complete a feasibility study and to bring the project to a production decision.
