Cornish Lithium, a private lithium exploration and development company based in Cornwall, broke new ground when they announced they were going to raise £1 million via a crowdfunding platform,  Crowdcube.

Doubts that his was achievable have been quashed as the company have confirmed over £1.4 million has been raised so far, a fantastic result. This is a first for a British mining company.

I never thought this was possible, given the struggle lusted companies are experiencing trying to raise funds on the London AIM and Standard Markets. This is testament to a strong management team and the abilities of CrowdCube.

Rights to explore for lithium and other battery metals across Cornwall have been acquired, and the team is re-evaluating a historic mining region where lithium was first observed in 1864.
