European Gold Forum – Day 2

European Gold forum – Day 2

The second day of the forum seemed busier than the first, maybe th 20 or so anti mining demonstrators outside yesterday really did put people off attending?

More good companies to review today, and a whole round of meetings and presentations becomes a blur as information overload kicks in. Sadly the cocktails ran out pretty quickly and people dispersed quickly.

European Gold forum – Day 2

.

The second day of the forum seemed busier than the first, maybe the 20 or so anti-mining demonstrators outside yesterday really did put people off attending?

.

More good companies to review today, and a whole round of meetings and presentations becomes a blur as information overload kicks in. Sadly the cocktails ran out pretty quickly and people dispersed quickly.

.

Once again the organisation was spot on, this really is the Rolls Royce of mining conferences, running smoothly at all times. One impressive feature is the electronic board outside the presentation rooms that indicates not only the schedule of nettings in both rooms, but also if presentations are running late, and an update on start times allowing for the delay.

.

One slight disappointment is that not all companies have the CEO at the show, many are using IR or other officers of the company. When I attend a meeting or presentation I expect to meet the CEO really.

.

The highlight for me today was Sandstorm Gold Royalties (SSD.to), who have rapidly built a company and will relly get going in two years time. If the price if gold increases, this will be a solid stock to be in as we move forward, in my opinion. Sandstorm is the epitome of a good gold streaming company.

.

Other companies that I thought had interesting stories, in no particular order, were Teranga Gold, Leagold Mining, Great Bear Resources, Nighthawk Gold, Silver One, and RNC Minerals.

The final day tomorrow, just a morning, so I have bought a rail ticket and am going to travel to Vaduz in Liechtenstein in the afternoon for some sightseeing before the late flight home tomorrow evening.
