   121 MIning Forum London – Day 1

The first day of the 121 Mining forum started in London, at the now usual venue of the old GLC building near the London Eye.

This is the biggest forum so far, with over 130 companies in attendance, and they have expanded down onto a lower floor to accommodate everyone.

121 MIning Forum London – Day 1

.

The first day of the 121 Mining forum started in London, at the now usual venue of the old GLC building near the London Eye.

.

This is the biggest forum so far, with over 130 companies in attendance. This has now outgrown the fourth floor of this large building, and has now overflowed onto the third floor.

.

The success of the event continues, every year is bigger than the previous one, and one wonders when that growth will stop?   Every event enjoys a honeymoon period, 121 emulated the Denver Gold Group in focusing on 121 meetings rather than booths at a trade show, and now this is being plagiarised by Mines and Money in London.

.

This year they have had to overflow down onto the 3rd floor in order to accommodate the extra 30 companies. This has resulted in some pretty nippy movement between meetings, especially from zone E on the far reaches of the 4th floor to zone F on the 3rd floor!

.

Navigation can be confusing, although one learns to use the C zone as a shortcut eventually, removing the long walk around the perimeter of the building.

.

Business was brisk on the first day, as usual, and the excellent catering was supplemented by a fully stocked bar for the end of day drinks, which were well patronised, as you would expect!

.

Talking to the organisers, they are very pleased at how the conferences are growing, and they have a full schedule including Sydney on the cards for next year.
