PDAC 2019 Toronto – Day 3

   PDAC 2019 Toronto – Day 3

Day 3 was noticeably quieter, and led to more complaints from booth holders that they weren’t meting any investors.

I was told that Canadian TV are reporting that the show has reduced numbers and exhibiting companies are complaining, so maybe the $CAD 23 entrance fee wasn’t such a good idea after all?

I spoke t many booth holders yesterday and asked the question about footfall at their booth and investor interest, and footfall, or rather tha lack of it was clearly a problem in many areas away from the central area, and I often got a strained “yessss” to the investor interest question. Many simply said the only people stopping by are trying to sell them something, well it is a trade show after all.

.

as in previous years, the price of gold was thumped hard just before the conference started, and that seems to have knocked the froth off just as people were becoming more confident about a rising gold price. Most projects here look a whole lot better at $1,400 gold!

.

As usual, many of the companies are looking to raise funds, and many mention they are about to do a raise almost as soon as you start talking to them.  Personally I think they should wait until they have finished their brief presentation before doing that, rather than jump in straight away.  A sign of desperation maybe?

.

Final day tomorrow, a brief 9 am to midday slog round the remaining targets, and out before the check out time in our nearby condo.
