With covid preventing international travel, the organiser of PDAC 2021 wisely cancelled this year’s event and went virtual instead.

Given that the event is now virtual, I am surprised the organisers are charging C$490, or £270, for an investor to attend. This seems ridiculously high, and akin to paying an entrance fee to enter the local supermarket. Continue reading

Copper has had another good week due to Chinese demand, and now stands at a 9 year high, nickel a 7 year high, and tin a 10 year high, as industrial metals rise on worldwide stimulus demand hopes.

Gold has had a terrible week, resulting in the price of many gold juniors falling, due to lower bond prices, the US Treasury Bond 10 year yield rising,  and a strong US dollar. Continue reading

The price rose last year as the giant Cigar lake mine was temporarily closed due to covid, and the world largest producer of U3O8, Kazatomprom, cut production by 20% until 2022.

The subsequent rise in price of U3O8 during 2020 has caused a bull run in uranium stocks, despite the fact that they are still unprofitable, and now the price is falling as Cigar Lake prepares to reopen. Continue reading

O3 Mining Discovers New Zone At Marban

   O3 Mining Inc. (TSX.V: OIII)

03 Mining provided new drilling results from the Marban project on its Malartic Property in Val-d’Or, Québec, as part of its well-funded 150,000 metre drilling program.

Osisko Development – C$23 Million Bought Deal

Announced that it has entered into an engagement agreement as of February 16, 2021 with Eight Capital, on behalf of a syndicate of underwriters  on a “bought deal” private placement.

The placing is an aggregate of 884,000 flow-through shares of the Corporation at a price of CDN$9.05 per FT Share; and (ii) 1,334,500 charity flow-through shares of the Corporation and, together with the FT Shares, at a price of CDN$11.24 per Charity FT Share. Continue reading
