Colonial Coal soars 75% in a week with high volume

   Colonial Coal {TSX.V: CAD}

Colonial Participated in the 121 Mining Forum held last week, and the price has soared, up by 75% in five trading days. No news has been released by the company.

This looks like institutions and investors buying in after becoming aware of the undervaluation of the company, give their near 800 million tons of premium quality coking coal resource, in B.C., Canada. Continue reading

   Mining news – Sunday roundup

Base metals were the story of this week as the world starts to unwind the lockdown and factories commence production again. Copper stocks in Shanghai were 15.8% lower week on week, with zinc 4.1% lower.

Colonial Coal (TSX.V: CAD) has virtually doubled in a week as coking coal prices rise, as industrial demand increases, on the back of anticipated stimulus programs.

Precious metals trod water, with gold and silver slightly down, and platinum up. Continue reading

Fosterville South acquires the Walhalla Gold Belt in Australia

   Fosterville South Exploration Ltd. {TSX: FSX}

Has expanded its portfolio of high-quality gold projects with the consolidation and acquisition of the 547-square-kilometre Walhalla Belt project in Victoria, Australia.

The Walhalla Belt Project has been consolidated by Fosterville South into a major 547 sq km land package, with total recorded historic hard rock gold production from the project of 1,510,309 ounces of gold at a recovered grade of 33.59 g/t gold. The project has sozens of high priority exploration targets including former mines, most with no modern drilling. Continue reading

Minera IRL and COFIDE to resume talks after COVID lockdown eased

Have indicated that they will resume talks with COFIDE in Peru once the covid-19 lockdown has eased, in an effort to resolve the funding issues regarding their Ollachea Gold Project.

The project is shovel ready with permits in place, the final piece of the jigsaw is the resolution of the $140 million capex funding issue. Continue reading

The story of the week is of course the soaring price of gold,  now trading around $1,735 as investors look for stability in a volatile stock, bond, and interest rate marketplace.

Trump is helping gold by looking for negative US interest rates, though I’m not sure they will actually happen.

Other news includes the total recovery from the covid virus of the Tinka Resources employee that caught it, and news that Radisson and Cartier are resuming exploration, with social distancing being a cornerstone safety feature. Continue reading

Announced the voting results for the election of its Board of Directors, which took place at the Company’s Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders (“AGM”) held today.
